Borderlands 3
Epitome: Gearbox

Yesterday, a Nintendo Switch rating for Borderlands three: Director's Cutting was spotted on the PEGI ratings board.

What'due south a bit weird near this is the fact the "Managing director'south Cutting" is actually a Season 2 DLC addition (which but got released this week on other platforms) and the base game hasn't even been confirmed for the hybrid system.

So, what's going on? While many believe it could exist a sign of a more official announcement in the future, GameSpot writer and verified Twitter user Gabe Gurwin has supposedly been in contact with a 2K representative. Apparently, Borderlands 3 is "not coming to Switch" and it'due south an "error" on PEGI's end that 2K has now had removed.

We've had a look ourselves, and sure enough - the Nintendo Switch listing is now gone from the official PEGI rating:

PEGI Rating - Nintendo Life
Prototype: Nintendo Life

Although the Nintendo rating for this DLC has been removed, there's still (arguably) mounting evidence that Borderlands 3 could somewhen land on the Switch. Apart from every other entry in the series already existence available on this hardware, in that location was one rather interesting discovery made by YouTuber Doctre81 final September.

Development studio and port specialist Fractured Byte posted a task listing seeking game developers (familiar with Switch) to work on an Unreal Engine projection. The genre was a "shooter" and i of the tasks was to assistance shipping games - like the get-go two Borderlands games - for the Switch.

It turns out Fractured Byte likewise collaborated with Turn Me Up Games to aid bring Borderlands: The Legendary Collection to Switch. Hmm, interesting!

Practice y'all retrieve Borderlands iii volition eventually make its way across to the Switch? Get out a comment downward below.
